Golf at Old Memorial Golf Club
In 1994 Outback Steakhouse founder Chris Sullivan hired architect Chris Smyers to design and build the exclusive Old Memorial Golf Club in Tampa, Florida. Named after a nearby highway that was once the only route to the bay area of Tampa, Old Memorial Golf Club opened for play in November 1997.
The course is built on 312 acres and is located just 15 minutes from the Tampa airport. In addition to a sandy base and convenient location, the property is blessed with several natural lakes, freshwater marshes, oak and pine woodlands, sub-tropical vegetation, subtle elevation changes and most importantly, coastal breezes that are an integral part of the playing experience.
In line with its traditional bent, walking with a caddie is mandatory at Old Memorial, unless a medical condition requires use of a golf cart. Package includes one round of golf for four people and must be used by April 30, 2012.
